Hunter Comments
I do not recommend this outfitter

We planned a hunt through Peters Hunting Service in Colorado and tried to contact Lonnie Peters three days before we left, just to confirm. We found out that the place we were to stay had been sold in June. We had 3 days to gather and pack camping gear so that we could stay in the mountains. We also found out that 2 hunters from Pennsylvania were swindled by Lonnie Peters Hunting service, and probably many more were swindled in the process. There were eight elk hunters in our group, and we would like to be reimbursed for our down payment of $1000, purchase of food and gas (it cost us alot more gas to haul 4 wheelers and camping gear). Our hunt was set up to be for lodging, food, transportation (while hunting) and guiding service for elk. Our expenses and wear and tear on our vehicles were greatly increased. Our hope is that the state of Colorado and DA of Rio Blanco will find Lonnie Peters and prosecute him for his fraud so that no one else is swindled the way that we were. Anyone else that was swindled by Lonnie Peters should contact your local sheriff department and they will contact the Rio Blanco sheriff department to start the process.
