We went on this hunt due to winning a drawing by renewing my membership to the Lone Star Bowhunters Association. Dan and his crew were outstanding, camp had everything you needed. Going the first week of September made it for a challenging hunt. We saw a lot of sign but few elk. This hunt is for resident elk for this time of year. They were not talking at all. I think we would have had a better chance at an elk by waiting a couple of more weeks. It was hot and dry the first 2 days. We setup on a water hole and then it rained all day the next day. Were able to bump several but the quakies were so thick youcouldn't see very far. But this is bowhunting and only my second elk hunt so it was a very good learning lesson for me. Enjoyed the entire hunt!
