Let me first start off with the lodging and food, They were excellent! The Lodging was really comfortable, clean and very appealing for a hunting getaway. The food was second to none, exceptionally good. The woman in the kitchen was absolutely outstanding, probably one of the most helpful and friendliest person I have ever met. My cousin and I were very happy with the lodging, food and additional services and let me not forget the guy who caped my cousins deer, Dwayne, great guy who was always very helpful. Robin Welch was the person I dealt with mostly on the phone to set the hunt up and he was very helpful in both booking and getting our liscense's purchased.

Now lets get to the hunt. We were given access to a 100 acre property that was near a river bottom and surrounded by corn. Unfortunately the corn was still up (which was the case in most of IL last year) so that would definitely have an affect on the number of deer we saw which I thought was realatively low compared to other years that I have hunted IL. It was hunted previously by a unknown number of hunters a week or 2 before we hunted the property which we found disappointing because we were under the impression that the property we were to hunt had not been previously hunted.(actually found a carbon arrow with a rage broadhead still attached, no blood) Although the deer that we did see didnt seem to be too spooked or pressured even though the property next to ours had numerous stands on the boundary line and that did cause some pressure judging by the deer movements. We did see a number of bucks between the two of us,roughly about 22 over 5 days, not including same sightings, but most of them were young immature bucks. The largest one we saw my cousin actually shot(it was his first deer with a bow) a nice 10 and it scored roughly 126 the rest were all smaller so I was somewhat disappointed by the quality of animals sighted even though we were there during a good part of the rut(Nov8-13). Now mind you the mininum score for a buck was 130 but Carrol and Bruce were very gracious and didnt charge a penalty for the buck my cousin shot which I and my cousin are very grateful for. Thank you Carrol and Bruce again. All in all it was a decent hunt. I cant say enough about the food, lodging and hospitality, they were great, the only disappointment I had was the number of QUALITY deer. We saw only 1 shooter (and shot it) in 5 days and we hunted from dawn to dusk each day in multiple stands all day. Judging by the website I thought we would have seen more deer over 130. Even with the low number of sightings I still would consider another hunt with this outfitter. I am sure they have better properties.
