First time ever hunting anything but whitetail for me. It was an awesome experience hunting elk. This camp is set up for stand hunting over water holes not so much for spot and stalk which is really what I was looking forward to. The food was excellent and there were ranch trucks available for our use to get us to our starting points. We had six people in our group and orginally were told that we would have the whole place to ourselves 28,000+ acres. Turns out there was a group of five there when we arrived. The other five guys were there to party, not so much to hunt and they carried alot of beer with them in the trucks assigned to them. They disrupted our hunt a few times driving back and forth around the ranch, especially once they found out that we were seeing animals (even though there were 28,000+ acres it seemed like they couldn't find game elsewhere than the couple thousand our group was hunting). There were not too many bulls spotted but quite a few cows. All said and done, it would have been a lot better experience without the other group romping through the woods. I probably will not go back because I am looking more for a spot and stalk hunt however, there is plenty of game on the ranch and if stand hunting is what you are looking for then this is a decent place to go. I would have liked to see more rules put in to place, possibly boundaries set up so the different groups do not run into each other, and maybe no alcohol while hunting would be a route to go. Our group took a cow, a calf, and a nice mule deer. There were opportunities for two other hunters to connect but inexperience took hold and the attempts were unsuccessful.
