Doug Caltrider runs a first rate operation. All hunting is on private ranches. Sleeping quarters are 2 man heated cabins. Meals are served family style. I bow hunted in 1995 or so and had no luck but saw hundreds of Elk. Bow hunts are 1 on 1 and he charges $6800 for the hunt which also includes a deer. Gun hunts are around $6200 and thsy are 2 on 1. I shot a spike on my gun hunt. Most bulls score around 280-320 with some pushing 350 or so. He takes 8 or so Bowhunters a year and his percentage is around 78-80 percent. Once a client kills an Elk he can hunt one of the lower ranches he leases for Whitetails. I can readily reccomend this operation as being first class in every way.
I appreciate Chip Tamar's kind words and good memories of his hunts with us. He is a very nice man, good hunter, and a pleasure to hunt with.
