Let me start by saying this is not a smash and bash it is simply the TRUTH! The so called "guide" said it best himself, and I quote "Its all about finalizing the sale. I was a used car salesman before i got this job" That's when i knew we were in trouble. After the wasted hunt the first afternoon, we received a great sales pitch about the GAR HOLE we would spend the next 4 days. At this time i offered to pay the remaining balance, in which i was told we would take care of it later. The evening before our last hunt, this so called "guide" did not have the guts to come collect his money, he sent another "guide". That was there hunting I might add. to come over and ask for it! This is when I realized I had been charged $600 more than several people in camp! Guess that is what I get for booking early. Stand placement was horrible and some were plain dangerous! The guy that owns this outfit seems to be a really good guy, but his manager is a HACK! I am not a pampered hunter looking for a "experience" I am a experienced hunter looking for a trophy. I know the risk involved and the uncertainty of hunting. There are no guarantees. When money is envolved I expect to get what i pay for and that did not happen.
Was the outfitter notified of problems? - NO
OUCH! I believe the phrase I used was "close the deal", and it was about taking advantage of the shot opportunity when it came... Selling cars? We were talking about the very distant past, and in a completely different context.... Anyway, I think that people who read this report should also look at the ones submitted just before this by Hobart Smith, Troy Tuten, and Dick Faulkner, who were all in camp at the same time as this client! I never solicited any of these comments. But, they tell a vastly different story...
And, my last comment: What happened when I moved this client? I recall a certain very large eight point.... Maybe a grain of salt would help!
