Mike has a top-notch outfit. His Merriam’s birds can be had in both South Dakota and Nebraska. His outfit is in south central South Dakota. South Dakota state tags are on a lottery that takes 2-3 years to draw. South Dakota Indian reservation tags are available as well. Nebraska state tags are also available for their special early season. The outfit is essentially a three fold affair 1) the birds, 2) the great personalities including Mike, his guides, and the other folks around camp, and 3) Harriett’s cooking. It is worth every nickel. I would go every year if time would allow.

It can be windy, it can snow throughout their season. The birds are Merriam's so they are not as moody as the Easterns most turkey hunters are used to. The number of birds are staggering so if one bird shuts down, you just go find another.
