This is the first time I have ever booked a hunt with a guide and I will have to say that we were very happy. The only thing that did not go great was the weather. It was very warm but the deer still were active, just not as much as we were planning on. We saw so many deer, 10 to 18 per hunt "bucks and does". At coen Expeditions 130" and larger is what you are to look for and we both seen one of those within the first 2 days. I did not feel good about a 10 yard shot because of the light and brush so I did not shoot and my friend could not stop the buck that was after the hot doe when they came by at 18 yards. The night I passed up this shot I had two smaller 8 points fighting below my stand and the shooter buck thrashed a tree about 50 yards away before he came into the open. We saw a nice 140 to 150 but we did not have enough time to get on him with 2 days left. We were able to fill 3 of the 4 doe tags and saw tons of other wildlife. I could not imagine seeing that amount wildlife and knowing that they were wild and not fenced in. We talked to 2 other guys who were hunting on another farm with Coen and they showed us some film of two different bucks 160 to 180 that they had close calls with as well. As for the food, what ever you requested, it was ready, available and great. Free run of the lodge, transportation in the field, I am hooked! I just hope that I can make it back "talking the wife into it"!!! Thanks for the great time and memories Dan and Janet Coen!!!!!!
