I had a great time hunting with Beau and Tom the owners of coppers creek outfitters. They work very hard to make sure everyone has a quality hunt. They understand that no one wants to hunt a burnt out stand. I believe they have somewhere around 250 different stand locations for every possible wind direction. with just 12 guys in camp and not hunting the first three weeks of the season, it leaves alot of fresh stands for the entire season.
The food was very good. A cook came in each evening and cooked dinner and prepared sack lunches for the next days hunt. Breakfast consisted of fruits and boxed stuff like ceral, poptarts.... Not fancy but sufficient.
I had a very short hunt and shot a nice buck 20 minutes after climbing into my stand. although Rock Island County isn't known for giants like some of the more popular counties, they manage to kill atleast one REAL BIG deer a year and lots of respectable bucks.
I'd definately recomend CCO to anyone wanting a very affordable and enjoyable bowhunt in IL. I've heard soooo many horror stories from the big outfits, it was nice to hunt with an hinest hard working outfitter.
None to date. If you are the outfitter please email us.
I stayed around for a day or 2 and the deer movement was low due to extremely warm conditions. I stayed in contact with several of the hunters and on the last day of the 5 day hunt a front blew in and sightings went up substantially. There were 2 booner class deer sighted and several p&y's seen by the remaining hunters once the weather cooled down.
