This was not a great hunt. And, it was during the rut. HOWEVER, it was of no fault of the land, lodge or outfitter. We had some of the worst weather we could have had. HOT! South winds. High winds. The bad thing was that the farmers had not yet cut the corn and the deer never really had to relocate to the timber. The outfitter ran out of south wind stands and really was at a lost on how to put his hunters on top of deer in such difficult conditions. I did take a doe but I never saw a shooter buck.
Would I go back? Yes! I did my homework before booking and Scott's a nice guy and has some good land and nice guides. B/w the corn not being cut and the warm weather conditions and then the last day, high winds, snow and sleet...it was just tough.
None to date. If you are the outfitter please email us.
Very warm most of the week. High winds everday. It rainled. It snowed and sleeted with high winds the last day. Just not good weather!
