Joe and his staff were excellent from Billy's cooking, Jeff's guiding and Dan's assisting in backpacking my elk meat out. Dan also went back and got my Elk head and antlers for me on a second trip.
Joe has excellent camp facilites which was always clean and immaculate. I had never done a guided or semi-guided hunt before, but I found this a very pleasurable experience and would recommend Joe and his crew to anyone who wants first class service.
As a police officer in a small community in Arizona I have a limited amount of income, like mamy folks do, so I did the semi-guided hunt. If you can call elk you may want to consider this option, but the guided hunt is defintely the way to go if you have the finances.
God blessed me with a nice 5x6 bull the third day of my bow hunt, shot at 27 yards through and through. I was sitting and glassing downhill and saw him at about 100 yds. No bulls had been bugling this morning as previous mornings. I gave him a squeek of a spike bull call to see if he would respond. He never bugled once but came right to me on a string! What a great time!

Thanks Howard for the overall good review. You forgot to mention that a deer tag in your pocket would have meant shooting a nice mulie buck too. I must admit that after calling a monster bull in for you on day one and then killing a good bull on day three I was a little dissappointed in the quantity and quality ratings, especially when two out of three hunters killed bulls, BUT... I guess when you're from Arizona, land of giants (but no tags!) it's hard to compare! If they had a rating for ease of kill I bet you'd have given us a ten! 1:30 pm sitting on a rock eating a PB&J sanwhich and along comes a buck AND a bull! Congratulations on your good fortune there Howard! Someone is surely looking down on you! I'm glad you found our services worthwhile after being a true do it yourself hunter in the past. Guys like you don't need a full time guide in our area. We're looking forward to seeing you in camp again soon. You are a true hunter and genuinely great person.
