Do to the in-responsibilities of the owner and operator Kevin Olmstead, my 14 day dream hunt turned in to a seven day disaster! I expect a full refund from Cabela's and Mr. Olmstead. Notice to the outfitter and agent where communicated both via telephone and written email confirm and acknowledged, both parties were notified that a special dietary meal was needed..... do to an unexpected health issue. 50 miles from Whitehorse, at the base camp located at Kusawa Lake where I was greeted, no one had any knowledge of any special meals. At this point I was at the mercy of the foods offered at camp! No wangler to help pack and unpack horses, no preseason scouting nor was the guide educated enough to know where the moose where during this time of the year. It was a total waste of time.

We only hear of the good times hunters have with outfitters but no one wants to voice themselves when something goes wrong. Well here is an outfitter that has been recommended by Cabela's, has a great reputation and cost me a fortune, and it can happen to any of you as well. This will not end till the booking agent whom I have hunted with for years does something about this problem which is getting ignored by both parties. This is not my first nor will it be my last hunt. I have hunted all over the world and am respected and treated with respect everywhere I have visited for much less money I spent with Kevin Olmstead. Alway greeted by the owner of the outfitting services, not by an employee who has no idea who you are nor was the person you paid for the hunt. Perhaps I confide to much in my booking agent to lead me on this hunt. The Carter family accepts no sponsorship from outfitters and have been hunting for over 30 years, highly educated in wildlife resources, I would have gotten the correct guidance need to have had a successful hunt. It was to late for me, as I was just introduced to this great organization shortly after my tragic hunt. It was a fellow hunter who said " when you get back home you must become a member so that this never happens to you again" I still wait for news from the outfitter and agent to amend this disaster.
