I hunted with Tevis McCauley the owner of Whitetail Heaven Outfitters during the 2006 and 2007 Kentucky general firearms season. I have one word, wow. I was immediately impressed with the Orvis type lodge, the hospitality and the top notch accommodations.

My 2006 and 2007 hunts with Whitetail Heaven Outfitters are hunts that I'll cherish for the rest of my hunting career. I saw a ton of game and given the well balanced buck to doe ratio I rattled in 7 different bucks during the 2006 season. During the 2006 season I took a buck that had an outside spread of 21 4/8, 14 scorable points, and a Boone and Crockett gross score of 163 7/8. During the 2007 season I took a buck that had an outside spread of 19 ¾, chocolate colored rack, two drop tines, heavy mass and had 14 scorable points. I ended up winning the 2007 Rockingham county Virginia big buck contest in my home state as they allow entries from surrounding states. My buck won the non-typical category with an unofficial net score of 170 inches.

The owner and staff at Whitetail Heaven treated us with down home hospitality. The food was terrific and the accommodations were second to none. But better yet, the quality of the land and the QDMA practices was evidenced with the abundance of trophy bucks that I was fortunate to see and then harvest. In 2006 another member of my hunting party took a beautiful 140 inch 8 point as well. The entire time Tevis and his staff worked hard to put us on deer.

This will be my third year in a row returning to Whitetail Heaven. Kentucky is hot right now and has ranked in the top five states for Boone & Crockett bucks for the last decade. If you want a crack at a Bluegrass trophy then give Whitetail Heaven Outfitters a call. You won’t be disappointed.
