Rough Country Outfitters

I have not talked to the Schell family in a couple of years so I Googled "Rough Country Outfitters" [RCO]to see what they were up to and came across the unfortunate negative report filed by two bow hunters from 2007.Due to the outstanding hunts I have had with RCO since my first hunt with them in 1986 I could not sit by and let this excellent outfitter be disparaged without providing another opinion of this outfitter.
I am a very serius 61 year old hunter. I have hunted big game with rifle, muzzel loader and compound bow [Eagle 3-D] all over the US as well as Canada, Alaska and 2 trips to Africa over the last 30 + years. I am willing to pay top price for a top notch hunt and I do not put up with sub-standard service, food, camp sites or available game. A close friend recommended the Schell outfit which is why I went in 1986 for my first hunt with RCO. I cannot count how many times I have gone back to Wyoming with friends and family as a guest of RCO to hunt pronghorn, white tail, mullies, elk and bear and have taken nice specimines of each. If I was a better shot I would have even more trophies hanging in my trophy rooms. Without exception, the Schell crew, including all his excellent guides, busted their butts 14-16 hours a day to insure everyone in camp had a memorable experience and had ample opportunity to see excellent game. Not only do the Shells run a top-notch operation but the entire Shell family from Jim Shell, Jim Senior [Jim's dad], Deb [his wife] and their two boys are all first class people. I have recommended them to many of my serious hunting friends and not one has been disappointed and most are now repeat customers.
As I said, I have not talked to the Schell family in a while and they did not put me up to this. If any serious hunters out there want a great trip they may contact me directly to talk about "Rough Country Outfitters". I will make myself available to talk to them personally. Good hunting to all and keep your powder dry
