They had great facilities and decent food... but we seemed like we were doing the guides scouting. The "guides" would be hunting while we hunted and the same areas we hunted. They would ask what we saw and where. We would normally be moved to a differnt stand. One guide moved a guy who passed on a buck that wasn't quite a shooter. The guide then shot it the next night and tried to hide the buck and not let anyone in camp know he shot the deer. Everyone else would be subject to a $500 penatly for a nonscoring deer. The weather was unseasonably warm and deer movement was slow... Not the outfitters fault. If you look on the website, many of the trophy photos are from guides that we met there. The deer are there... I would definately go back to Pike County, but only during the rut... and with an outfitter that doesn't have their guides hunting instead of guiding. Many were from FL and down south and only guided for hunting permission. Most (not all) were not familiar w/ the land. There were a couple of exceptions and they were good guys.
