My hunt included 2 friends. My calls to the outfitter were all returned in a timely fashion if he didn't answer the original call. All plans were discussed ahead of time & all things discussed were carried out by the outfitter. NO complaints by any of the 3 of us.
We had a comfortable horse back ride up to camp(tents). Our hunt was a treestand setup. In a.m. darkness we were woke up & had donuts or cereal & were led out to our treestands, 45 min to 1hr walk each way. The outfitter walked at a comfortable pace & made several stops for us flatlanders to catch our breath. Would take us to the base of stand & instruct us when he would meet us later & was always on time, never wondering where the heck are they! Late breakfast upon return to camp in late a.m. was cooked to order, pancakes, bacon etc.
Naps & practiced shooting bows in afternoon(targets provided). Shower set up & available(and used daily).
Evening hunts we were led out to new stands & set up. After dark the outfitter would show up on time & lead us back to camp so we didn't wonder off to god knows where.
Great dinners & sat around playing games.
Everyday we heard bulls bugling. Saw several animals. Could hear animals in distance but being a treestand hunt & a novice not comfortable getting down & going after them by myself.
One buddy killed a very nice representative 5X5 bull on day 3. I killed a great 6x7 bull on day 5(lucky me-outfitter said one of his top ten bulls in 35 yrs on same mntn). Other buddy killed a monster cow on last evening(day 6). All animals caped out immediately by outfitter or his helper. Very next morning they were taken down the mntn & to town to processer. Never a question about meat spoiling or cape going bad.
Already got our preference points this spring & we all plan on returning to same place in '09 w/ 2more friends.
None to date. If you are the outfitter please email us.
