Clifford and Don at the Quailshed put in the extra time and effort to make this a great hunt.

I purchased a Rut Archery hunt and a first season shotgun hunt. I was pleasantly surprised at not just the amount of deer that I saw but of the quality of deer. There were several very nice deer taken the weeks that I hunted including two deer over 170" which seems to be the norm at The Quailshed. Don't let the location fool you there are some GIANTS running around the cornfields of eastern Illinois.

It may be a little different hunting than what some of us are used to. Coming from the South East and used to hunting large tracts of Timber company land it sure was to me...I never really hunted field edges and you may think "what the heck am I doing sitting out in the middle of this fence line" that is until you see the bucks running the does all around you. The suspense can almost be more than one man can take.

My hunts were unsuccessful only in that I did not take a animal..I did however pass on a 140" 10 pt that looked to close to being 2.5 years old to shoot..(I'm hoping he will be there this coming up season as I have booked both hunts again)

Give the Quailshed a try...I dont think you will be dissapointed.
