This hunt was intense. It was a combination Lion and Buffalo hunt. The lion hunt took place on the 28k acres owned by Madiakgama. This male was with a female and we spotted him on the 2nd day of the hunt. On the third day we caught up with him for 7 hours of tracking. He was tired of being chased and held tight in a shady spot in a thick patch of trees and brush. It was hairy for a while, but we were finally able to get a shot and I collected one of the most incredible animals I've ever shot.
The Buffalo hunt took place on a different tract of land, several hours from where I shot my lion. That hunt was intense as well because we were hunting a solitary old, smart, buffalo bull. We got close on several occassions but he was smarter than us and I failed to get a shot. I booked right away for 2007.
Jimmy, Linda and Jacques worked extremely hard for me and I had a fabulous hunt.
