Like Cowpeas, Austrian Winter Peas are extremely attractive to deer, will establish in poor soils of a lower PH, and is a low-growing annual that spreads on vines. It has very strong winter tolerance and is well suited for northern states and colder climates. It's attractiveness to deer leads to serious overgrazing so fencing or repellants are required for all but large fields. |
