I was the high bid at last years Grand Slam Club Ovis convention on a donation hunt by Savage Encounters. I tried to reach Chad by phone, text and email over the next 2 months but was unsuccessful. I tired several times over the spring/summer and also contacted GSCO to help. I finally asked for my money back and he called me shortly after that. I assume GSCO reached out to him. GSCO told me in an email Chad is a good guy and they have never had any trouble with him. To say Chad was distant in camp would be a stretch, not sure Chad said a word to me in camp. He was around every morning and night in the lodge just not very outgoing. It may have been that I was not a paying customer and just paid for an auction hunt. The lodge is very nice, better than almost every place I have been but not a spike camp and it is his home. Food was ok, wife did the cooking as the regular cook was not available. My guide tried hard but after 6 days I never heard or saw a moose. First time on any hunt that I did not see my target species. I did this hunt, in part, to see the operation for a possible sheep hunt but I would not hunt there again.
