My grandfather and I hunted with Eric and McGregor River Outfitters 10/3/22-10/7/22 and despite above average temperatures for rut-based movement, we saw moose every day. We had multiple opportunities at bull moose, and finally got one down on the last morning after some technical difficulties on our end the day before. Eric was always pleasant, professional and enjoyable to be around. The accommodations, cooking, equipment, logistics, and care of the animal after it was down were all more than satisfactory and I could not recommend Eric and his team enough for hunting Moose, Black Bear, Wolf, or Mountain Goat. I plan to maintain the friendship we established this past week for years of hunts to come.
It was my pleasure to hunt with you and your grandfather. I look forward to our future hunt plans and the camaraderie the hunt has brought us. Mae West said it best: “ you only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.” Thanks again for the great laughs and positive attitude you and your grandfather displayed for a great hunt.
Weather was warn - most of the movement was in the mornings or after sunset. Pretty typical for early-fall hunting seasons in almost every geographical area.
