Property was gated with locks and promised to be free of anyone other than myself during our hunt. (possible land owner/partner staying in woods off the hunting property) The final 2 days of our hunt there was a skidder with brush hawg attached that spent both days cutting trails and mowing through the best bedding area on property. The second day started with the land owner/partner letting the skidder operator in through the locked gate when he had seen us at the cabin that was 100 yards from the gate. Why would you allow this to happen when you know there are paying clients hunting the property that had a written guarantee to be free of anyone other that myself? I discussed the situation with the outfitter, James, and sent him timestamped pics from my trail cams,Showing the skidder cutting throughout the property on both days. He basically said oh well, it must have been the gas company that pays me $5000 per month for use of the land. ??? Then never answered another text or call from me? I was very civil and simply told him it would be fair if he was to offer us a 2 day hunt next season for the 2 days that were ruined during our hunt, causing us to spend a lot of money and travel time etc. to return home without a deer. The property looked great and should have had many great deer. But only had a few small bucks and a few does on trail cams. I could have shot a small 8 pointer the day before the skidder arrived, but opted to pass since there was plenty of time left to find the deer I was looking for. I can’t imagine why this guy would just ignore me, when he knew what had happened and his partner had let the people into the property, so there was no question that I was telling him the truth. Offering me 2 days of hunting wouldn’t have cost him anything. But ignoring the fact cost Jim any return business from us or anyone that will ever read this or anyone I ever speak with. Bad business. Don’t trust this guy. His website is full of reasons to check out your outfitter before paying for your hunt and reasons not to trust them! He knows from his own doing! He is a crook and bad business person. Don’t be fooled. Find one if the other outfitters that will be trustworthy and help you get your trophy !
