I booked this hunt with Two Bear Outfitters before being told J&J Guide Services purchased Two Bears. Rich (the owner) was very quick and responsive when reaching out to inform me of the purchase and did everything he could do to make sure I was informed and confident in my booked hunt. When talking to Rick (another owner) it was like talking to a friend, he was always helpful, nice, understanding, and patient with my many dumb questions. My guide (Jace) was younger but very knowledgeable and had a real go get 'em attitude which was right up there with what I wanted. Since they just bought the original outfitter they didn't have a lodge and food set up but they made sure the lodging I had was comfortable and paid for all the meals in town that I ate. I didn't see much bears but I saw many tracks and evidence of them. The end of the first night I had a shot opportunity but Rick ended up not having me take the shot because I didn't have a good shot and it wouldn't have been ethical, which I valued so much because it shows he cares about not only the hunter but the animals too. I ended up harvesting a beautiful cinimum bear the morning of day two with Jace. He listened to my ideas and we formed a plan together which ended in filling my tag. Jace let me cape the bear and help field dress it but was expecting to do it him and was willing to do all the work hiking it, he actually chuckled with I said I wanted to share the weight because it's a part of the experience. From start to finish of my hunt they kept me informed of what the plan was, was actively teaching me how to bear hunt instead of just taking me out there, and more focused on me enjoying my hunt than anything else. Multiple times I was told they will do everything to get me a bear but that they just wanted me to be happy and satisfied with my experience since it was my first time bear hunting and my first guided hunt ever. I had so much fun that I booked another hunt with them for mule deer and antelope and recommend them to anywho who asks. If I had to sum up my experience I would say it was a huge success and worth every penny.
