This was my 3rd trip to Africa and the 2nd to African Arrow Safaris. I had also hunted here in 2017 and just could not wait to get back so rebooked. This outfit is quite honestly one of the top experiences that I have experienced and cannot imagine a better all around experience.

When you do your research pretty much everyone in Africa supplies a nice lodge, great food, a nightly fire, and great African hospitality. But the two things that sets African Arrow Safaris offers that no one that I could find offers is a ranch that stretches out forever and such a great working relationship with nearby ranches that the hunting area of 100,000+ acres at the lodge is quite easily doubled. Couple that with trophy quality that is boundless. I took a 45" sable (saw one bigger later in hunt and other hunter in camp took a potential new world record sable), 27.5" roan, 15.5" bushbuck, great warthog and female wildebeast for a rug back home. By hunts end I had just under 600 animals inside of 30 yards and could have shot the vast majority of that. Multiple 40" and greater gemsbok, several 54-56" kudu, absolutely monster eland, multiple huge nyala, lots of big impala and blesbok, as well as big blue wildebeast. None of the latter were shot as I had already harvested on previous trips.

The big deal breaker for me is the sliding scale pricing you see with most outfitters over there or the outfitters saving the trophy animals for the high paying clients. Harry Nel and his African Arrow Safaris DOES NOT operate like that. Everyone in camp is hunting the biggest that is available and due to his tremendous game management you will see such amazing animals. He and his guides go out of there way to produce for you and there is something on your list that you really want they will do everything they can to produce for you. Having bowhunted for over 35 years and in a lot of places, I have never seen the caliber of game as I saw on these past two safaries with Harry Nel.

Employees are there to impress and take care of your every need. Every PH is excellent and knows what they are doing and takes care of business before and after the shot. Harry and Charleen are excellent hosts and will lay out a great African experience. I will be going back and can''t wait to see and experience all that awaits there.
