This was my first outfitted trip anywhere out of my home province so I can not compare it to any other experience. I spent a considerable amount of time researching various outfitters in Africa and finally decided to contact Hannes with Limcroma because of all of the good comments, who promptly responded. Based on the information provided, I decided to book the hunt. I was then put in touch with a representative in the United States who was able to fully answer all of my questions over a number of months. As a result, I felt I was prepared and it ended up that yes I was and did not wish I had taken other items or did things differently. Unfortunately, they could not do anything about the long air flight to get there!!

I can honestly say that I was well taken care of from the moment I arrived at Johannesburg until I returned 8 days later. My PH was Otto and he worked hard to ensure I had the full African experience. We hunted hard, long days in hot blinds but this is exactly what I asked for. The blinds were set up so that shots were normally 20-30 yards so they definitely had bowhunters in mind when they were constructed. Otto was extremely knowledgeable of all the game and also very careful where we set up to ensure the wind was in our favor. As well, they were able to keep the rifle hunters and bow hunters separate, in fact, we rarely saw any other hunters when we travelling and hunting in the concessions. During that time, I was able to observe many, many animals enabling me to take many pictures and videos that I am still enjoying. I ended up taking 4 animals during the trip which is the number I had planned to take - Gemsbok, Kudu, Impala and Zebra. I still have to wait a few months to get the trophies back but it sounds like the company they use to look after them is one of the best - this comes from my importer who has worked with several companies in SA.

I stayed at the River camp which is along the Limpopo river with Botswanna on the other side of the river. I am not sure if they will continue with this camp as they were just opening a new camp which I toured before it was done - it looks great. Gemsbok were feeding beside this new camp every evening we drove by. The room I had was very well appointed, comfortable, meticulously cleaned each day and the view was tremendous. All of the staff made me feel at home from the very beginning as it had a home type atmosphere with never very many hunters in camp at any one time. The food served was outstanding. We normally had different type of wild game cooked each day (bush buck, Gemsbok, Eland and so on)cooked in various ways along with several other side dishes including very fancy desserts. All of the wild game meat was excellent tasting. The head cook took the time before each meal to explain what each dish was, how it was cooked and also explained the history of the dish especially those that were traditional SA dishes.

All in all, I would highly recommend this outfitter, you will not be disappointed!
