I hunted Western Kentucky with Dan Kendall and Pennyrile Outfitters this past November on an archery hunt. Let me start by saying that Dan and his staff were the most friendly and accommodationg folks you will ever meet. They truly go above and beyond to make your hunt the best possible expoerience it can be. The food was hearty, and plentiful, and the camp was comfortable. The farms are beautiful and loaded with game. Dan and his people are seasoned vets when it comes to hanging stands and playing the conditions to put you on the deer.
Although I did not take a deer, I saw lots of animals and several quality bucks. I could have easily taken a deer in the 120-130 class, but that's not what I went to Kentucky or Pennyrile for...I was committed to hold out for a true giant, and sometimes that means not filling a tag... I was into deer every day and saw a couple of different "STUDS" that just did not come into my comfort zone. Nevertheless, I had a great hunt! Dan is a true professional and he knows his stuff. I am already looking forward to hunting with Dan and the crew at Pennyrile next fall.
