African Arrow Safaris

My Brother and I went to African Arrow Safaris for ten days in late October 2011 and had a spectacular time. The Nel family was very gracious and within a day or two you feel like you are hanging out with lifelong friends or family. There was lots of laughter and storytelling from the time you get up until you go to bed. The Lodge was very nice. It’s clean, comfortable, and modern. We lacked nothing. The bar and fire pit are wonderful for sitting around after the evening hunt. The meals were outstanding. When you add some African wine and the always comfortable and relaxing conversation, it may be what I miss most. The Nel family is very close and they welcome you into their family immediately. We took one afternoon off and boated on the Limpopo River – what a blast. The hunting was phenomenal. We arrowed 13 animals (9 species). We shot Waterbuck, Zebra, Warthog, Impala, Red Hartebeest, Blue Wildebeest, Blesbok, Gemsbok, and Nyala. We did Africa on a budget. If we had no budget we could have easily arrowed more. We had Kudu in the 53+ inch range in front of us nearly every time out. We also had many large shooter Eland tempting us on multiple days. Everything including the trucks and blinds are well maintained. WJ (my brother’s PH) did a fantastic job. Harry’s dedication, drive, and entrepreneurship is very noticeable and greatly appreciated. Harry will be a lifetime friend. I would very much like to return and bring my friends and family to African Arrow Safaris. If you go you will too! Thanks to all my new friends at AAS: Harry, Henriette, Coen, Brandt, Dierdre, and WJ.
None to date. If you are the outfitter please email us.
It was extremely hot a couple days. We just went hunting earlier in the morning and were rewarded with success.
