My dad and I hunted for 5 days at the Spearhead Ranch for the 2nd time (1st in 2006). We were both hoping to shoot a Pope and Young class antelope. Both of us saw many antelope (both bucks and does) and had a very enjoyable hunt. By the end of the week my dad and I had arrowed 3 antelope with 2 surpassing the P&Y minimum and the other just shy of 67". There were a total of 12 hunters in camp and everyone took at least 1 antelope with the biggest scoring around 75". Besides the hunt itself, the Moore family was a pleasure to hunt with. The hunt camp is a family operation and it really shows with everyone pitching in to help to make the hunt memorable. Also, Shirley packed a few pounds on me with her excellent cooking and Leo kept us all entertained with his story telling abilities. If you are looking for a fun hunt with a lot of antelope opportunities look no further! Only word of caution is don't shoot the first one you see!
Thanks Lee, we always appreciate the feedback.
It started out in the 90's for the first 2 days and cooled off towards the end of the week into the 70's.
