Day 4
I went back to the same blind as yesterday. I took a lunch, a couple of waters, and Bill O'Reilly's new book Killing the Rising Sun. I had very little opportunity to read it since I had action from sunup to sundown.
With one exception, the same bucks I saw yesterday returned again today. They are all 3.5 year old bucks so they get a pass from me. I'm looking for a mature buck that gets my blood flowing and these deer did not make the cut. But it was fantastic to watch them making scrapes, rubs and grunting. The pre-rut is just getting started up here and we're two weeks out from serious rut activity.
I had almost nonstop action all day. But no shooters. Lots of fun and sooner or later a mature buck is going to roll in. I know they're here!
