Tuesday Morning:

Conditions were perfect. Very cold and still. At 6:50, three does came by my stand giving me a couple of shot opportunities. At 7:45 this 4 pt. buck (right picture) scent trailed the does (one was displaying "in-heat" behavior). He came as far as my stand then simply plopped down on the ground and bedded there for two hours. At 9:45 he got up and fed around my tree until he moved out of the area. I saw him later with a spike and a doe.

Tuesday Afternoon:

The afternoon hunt was slow all around. I hunted the spot I sat last night but saw only a handful of does and one small buck. A single doe fed underneath my stand then headed off towards the fields. Shortly after her, at 4:00 PM, a small buck walked by at 40 yards grunting with each step. It was a slow night for everyone however Steve took out a large doe on a crop damage permit.
