Finally we have a good result with a large percentage of people aging these deer correctly on the hoof. Our previous contests were much harder since it included a very old deer - this contest did not..
Buck 1 was 5.5 according to the cementum annuli method of aging deer used by DeerAge.com. He was a great Saskatchewan buck. Rob Nye had no experience with this buck and no previous years' pics.
Buck 2 was 3.5 according to DeerAge.com. He was a young deer with amazing genetics and would have been a slammer for northern NY had he survived a couple more years. I had history with this buck and thought he was 4.5. Almost nobody would pass up this buck in NY state.
