There will be shots taken at the head that end up in the body. This gizmo looks like it'd likely bounce right off the thick coat of feathers if a body shot were to happen. And even if it does penetrate enough to kill the turkey humanely, it doesn't look like it'll leave much good meat to consume.

A turkey's head moves too much. With a sharper point and a little more sweep to the blades it might not be bad when placed on the wing butt.

The worst thing about this point is the 128 grain weight. Why make a point in a weight that no one uses? Too much hassle!

needs more sweep back on blades; it probably would bounce off a turkey if it hit wrong; and the energy might be thrown off the blade with a good hit anyway.

Crap, not better than a Zwickey...

Whew! You guys are tough... I believe this is a much better way to go than trying body shots, and from what I saw it works very well. You either kill the bird or miss the head/neck cleanly...

not for turkey hunting as intended, but i can see it's uses in a creative way....3d broadhead shoots for example ;o)....or on a flu-flu for aireal targets...

it also might be good for the economy, creating a whole new line of products such as specialized quivers.

never reject such creativity off hand without looking for non-obvious and creative uses.

of course, i think they are over priced, but if someone wanted to send me some....

Turks have a pretty sensitive head/neck. One nick and lights out. Seems very effective to me. I had thought of using a bird basket head myself. Not sure if that is legal. Head shots on turks are a close range proposition. Shoot good.

Even if it works (I'm dubious) I see problems shooting it out of blinds and also in putting it in the quiver. And then there's the price.

They recommend using carbon arrows because aluminum will flex so much, they will break....thats a negative for me. They recommend 4-5" fletching....thats a negative for me. Yer supposed to shoot with plastic covers on the blades? Thats a negative for me and would be illegal in AZ.

You Guys are tough at least you should try it before you trash it. It is a well built head that will work and the guys that are building it are good people if you have a question contact them yhey will be glad to answer all you questions

thumbs up From: DMC
This broadhead (pictured) is misleading. The website shows one with sheaths, that allow the arrow to fly as straight as a field point. That's the "marketable" aspect of this broadhead. Otherwise you wouldn't even be looking at it. Who would buy a broadhead that wouldn't fly straight? No one. This one DOES fly straight. It's actually NOT a 128gr head. It's 125. Let's all get our facts straight.

thumbs down From: BFB

thumbs up From: stodr@work
Dont know if it would go thru a screen. the blades are very thin so not alot of planning. It is the plastic sleaves over the blade you see flying off not the blades. I believe it is something you would put on an arrow when you sat down to call not carry in a quiver

thumbs down From: Phil in MO

thumbs up From: HeritageHunter
I see this as being a great new idea. As far as to question the ethics behind head shots, thier video clears up any questions I had on thier effectiveness, and it seems you either have a vitaly impacted bird, or a clean miss. I'll see how it works for some other hunters before I spend my money, the price is the biggest down side for me.

thumbs up From: Medic
This makes the head shot as feasable as the "approved" vital shot for an archery turkey.

thumbs up From: CoElkHntr
well...nothing in arcery is cheap. better be close 'cause this babys gonna plane something fierce, large diameter does allow for a little though. I think their on the right track. Good idea.

thumbs up From: Birdman

thumbs down From: >>>===Rick===>
In theory a neet idea. They won't fly with out the plastic tubes on the blades, I've been told. Lose a tube, lose your shot.

thumbs down From: Horn Donkey
There should be an optional 2 thumbs down for this one. How could this ghastly contraption penetrate anything but jell-o???

thumbs down From: ELKNINJA

thumbs down From: WW
I don't believe they will fly well past 15 yards. That was the distance the person in the booth told me was "ethical".

It is not a kill or miss proposition either as he stated. You can still shoot off a little and just nick the bird. Shoot off a lot low and the arrow will NOT penetrate the bird.

I'll pass and keep on shooting my Wasp SSTs with a Zwickey Scorpio

thumbs down From: arrowflinger
How would you get them in your bow quiver?

thumbs down From: White Ape
Looks like the same old saying applies for this item as with horse shoes and handgrenades

thumbs down From: Dryfire
Arrowflinger, I would thinking the same thing. Also, I think accuracy would be horrible because of planing.

thumbs down From: Broncoj

thumbs down From: T B
Now I have no intention of using these heads, but I was there and these guys have done their homework. If you watch the video it shows what the head will do. These guys were spending alot of time making sure to tell everyone( I witnessed) NOT TO TAKE BODY SHOTS with this head as it woun't do the job. Check it out for yourself and then make up your own mind.

I think that this is a great idea. If you can't hit a 4" circle at 15 yards, best spend a bit more time shooting, or use something else. The vid's tell the story. Even the 'nick' was lethal.

thumbs up From: ArcheryNow
Watch the video, I did last week at Cabelas, if your a good shot, meaning you practice, this thing is deadly. It will take a turkeys head clean off. 4 inch diameter makes even a moving turkey head a possibility.

I think the chance of wounding is too high with a head shot. Best offf aiming at the body, so a large broadhead isnt necessary.
