Sometimes life serves you lemons and you make lemonade. Such were the events of day 9..
What started as a simple ride-a-long on Kent's bear hunt turned into the surreal. While driving the road I looked ahead and saw what can only be described as the next world record. Both Jack and Kent turned around to look at me - but no words were necessary. I had my release on and was already out of the truck. I stalked him with precision and was so nervous I missed my first shot by punching the release. But he didn't go too far and by a stroke of luck he gave me a 2nd shot. That arrow deflected off a branch. I would not give up and on my 3rd shot I made a perfect double lung shot taking him cleanly.
Kent and Jack were in awe. This had to be the next world record. Jack asked if he could be in the photo and I said: "of course, if it wasn't for you I would never have had this opportunity." What was looking like an uneventful day of bear hunting took an incredible twist. While technically I will have to wait for panel measuring, I think it's fair to say that this is the best of all time - bow or gun. It was, by far, the most incredible day of my hunting career. My thanks to Jack for leading me to him, and to Kent as well. If it weren't for his bear tag this never would have happened.
