I do not recommend this outfitter

Stay far away from this Outfitter. Josh, the owner, appears to be a knowledgeable, upfront person. So we thought. What he originally explained prior to booking was no where near what we experienced after full payment and arriving at the hunting destination. He told us one thing but upon arrival he presented a disclosure form that we were to sign and agree to prior to the hunt. His guides aren't guides. They are mostly young kids that just drive you to a hunting property, drop you off and pick you up. There's no guiding. You are placed in a stand on the side of an open field and you are there from dark to dark. Deer movement was primarily in the first and last 2 hours of daylight. Very little to no movement during the rest of day. We were therr from November 9th to the 13th and we were charged additional for the "rut". There was very little rutting activity observed. The amount of deer I saw was very disappointing. Josh has archery hunters hunting stands conducive to rifle hunting. The majority of the deer I did see were 100 to 250 yards away. Hardly anything close enough for a bow. Needless to say I had zero opportunity to harvest an animal. 2 guys in my party went 2 days without seeing an animal. 2 days I had encounters with people from a neighboring property riding a side by side and tractor 75 yards away and 430 in the afternoon, prime time for deer movement. These encounters were reported to the outfitter but nothing was rectified. I can go on and on. Bottom line the outfit is a joke. The outfitter is untrustworthy and deceptive. Don't waste your money on this place. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the frustration. By all means go somewhere else. My email address is [email protected]. feel free to reach out to me and I will be more than happy to fill you in on my experience.

Outfitter's Response
Agree

We are extremely sorry that you had a bad experience. We place our resources, sweat and time into having the best hunt possible. We try our best to control the factors that we can control. We have a beautiful new lodge with full sized beds, over 22,000 acres and we harvest on average of over 10 bucks scoring over 160" each year! This is not easy to accomplish! Our website indicates that we are free range and do not bait nor have feeders. I speak to everyone about this before booking. You then arrive and are upset that you are not bowhunting out of an elevated tower. Now, we do have many towers but some are not set up for bowhunting so we suggested a Millennium L110 ladder stand which is extremely nice. We also stress the importance of hunting all day during November to increase your odds since we have only 5 days to get an opportunity. You weren't a fan of this and wanted out of the stand by 9am and didn't want to return to the stand until late afternoon but we coached you into hunting since thats why youre here in the first place. We always try to sit as much as possible since we do harvest many bucks mid day. With our success and shot opportunities at big deer, each week is different due to weather, wind speed and direction and the overall barometric pressure. Some weeks are phenomenal and some weeks we just want to pull our hair out due to lack of deer movement but that is all apart of hunting. Yes, the week you were in camp, the barometric pressure was low, we had South and SE winds with temps hitting 60 plus degrees not to mention a ton of rain.I urge anyone interested in this post to look up the weather we had for this week. We also were dealing with some bucks locked down that we were seeing in open agg fields. This all made for a tough week but we still killed a couple of nice bucks and had 2 wounds while you were in camp. We are sorry that you weren't one that had an opportunity. Scent showers and scent control are also important while bowhunting We'll, just leave that as that...we had a lot of deer movement on the cell cams 30 yards from the 2 stands you hunted before you began your hunt. Each camera went cold for nearly a week and we have you on camera several times throughout the days walking around and I can share these with anyone that is interested. Free range hunting for big deer is difficult and it is not a guarantee to get an opportunity at one. We state this all the time and it's on our website. We truly wish everyone could take home a giant Whitetail but unfortunately it doesnt happen that way. This is not a place you come to just to fill tags, this is a place that we collectively want to hunt and manage together for quality whitetails. I urge anyone to look through our website at our lodge, the deer we've harvested over the years, the turkeys we've harvested over the years and you can surely see that this review is not an accurate description of who we are and what we do nor what we strive for. Hunting for quality/mature free range animals is our desire and we will continue to work hard all year round to ensure our future guests and friends a great experience.
