if someone who has not taken very many outfit hunts, and works hard to afford the opportunity to do a hunt like this, I’m always apprehensive, that the outfit, and the hunt might not meet my expectations. This hunt by far exceeded all of my expectations! The lodge is extremely comfortable, and well laid out. The food is phenomenal, (and I do mean phenomenal). Every detail is covered, down to even the little things like blackout shades and fans in the bedrooms. All of the stands are well placed, and Rob pays very close attention to wind direction. (The rides to the stand are done in state of the art side by sides). He also has these bucks scouted well before you get there. Rob has been doing this a very long time and knows how to run an excellent camp. And, while I can’t say enough about the lodge, and all of the amenities that go with that, the most important part, is that the hunting is out of this world! I have been to places like Iowa, and I would put Rob Nye’s camp against any place in the world for hunting big whitetails. One look at all of the giant bucks that are taken every year is enough to tell you that you are in big buck Country! I shot my buck on day two, and there was actually a bigger one Rob was going to put me on the next day when the wind was better for that spot. However, when a pushing 160” class 8x7 nontypical with a 5” drop tine, walked in and gave me an easy broadside shot, I decided there was no way I was passing him up! I can’t say enough about this Outfitter and his camp. Rob is a super down to earth, great guy, who is not swayed by money or making a profit. He keeps his hunter numbers low enough that there are plenty of big bucks to go around. That is not something you see in a lot of outfits. Many places are just puppy mills that are trying to run as many hunters as they can through their camp in order to make a bigger profit margin at the end of the year. That is not who Rob is. That doesn’t even seem to register with him. He simply loves the game, and likes seeing his clients shoot big, trophy, whitetails. I would give Rob an A+ in every category. Highly recommend!
