This was my second trip with Sleeve Lake Outfitters. Last year was the first, and the weather really played a big role in dampening the hunting. I only saw 2 bears the whole trip, but the 3”+ of rain was surely the cause, since everything outside of the weather was exceptionally well handled. My father and I rebooked for this year before leaving.
After a year long wait, the second trip did not dissappoint. My good friend Dave joined my father and I on this trip. From the guides, outfitter, and cooks, we wanted for nothing and had more options than anyone could need. Bear camp had a homey, welcoming feel, with never a down moment, alot of laughter, and everyone gaining a few extra pounds.
The crew at SLO gives everyone the same 110%. Nothing goes unnoticed. The guides are constantly looking for the next shooter bear, and moving hunters to capitalize on opportunities. Camp was 5/5 on bears. I was fortunate enough to take an absolute brute of a bear on this trip, topping the scales at over 400 pounds. Dave and I are rebooked for next year.
Anyone looking for a very well run operation, with the chance to take a trophy animal, look no further than Sleeve Lake Outfitters. You will not be disappointed.
