I booked the trip for my 70 year old dad and a first time lady hunter the first day they hunted all day from 4 till 8 pm walked in the morning sat water from 11 am till dark and the next day there guides which were great guys said we have one more property the elk just aren't here yet so the second day both guides and two hunters and me went out to hunt by 930 both guides said were spinning our wheels the elk are juzt not here yet and the owner Gordon conroy will let ya come back and hunt at a later date so we were fine with that it's in our home state so we left at 1030 am come to find our Gordon wants us to pay again to hunt again so of course we're not giving him more money so we just say no thanks and tell him how unhappy we were then Gordon proceeds to call us idiots and other names and tells us good luck with trying to complain to the guide board and how stupid we are and that he has to go has to take more people money and send them to places where the elk are not beware of broken horn outfitters Gordon the owner is a real peice of poo
Was the outfitter notified of problems? - YES
Well what Kyle is telling you is mostly fabricated. The only truth is that his 70 year old father hunted with me along with a 1st time hunter. I host close to 300 clients a year and for good reason, my reputation. An outfitter doesn't stay in business for 22 years without a good repuation. The fact is they didn't see elk in the one day they hunted, which I have no control over. My guides never said they could come back, they told them that they would need to ask Gordon (me) about that. They voluntarily left after the morning hunt. Nobody told them to or suggessted such a thing. Guessing not a lot of elk hunting experience for fair chase elk. When Kyle contacted me I explained that often times I would try to accomodate hunters who hadn't seen an elk to come back for another 2 days later in the season, however I do charge an additional $500 (it an $1850 hunt) to cover costs for guides, fuel, time. Mind you Kyle isn't even the client, he is complaining I guess for his father? I don't know. Kyle didn't like my response and told me weren't going to pay more. So I said I guess they weren't coming back. He said thats "great customer service" and hung up on me. Then Kyle immediately starts to text me and email me like a child tell me all this stuff he is going to do. Not grown up enough to stay on the phone and have a conversation, but sure tough behind a keyboard. I am wondering how many other outfitters, fishing guides etc. Offer this to their clients who aren't successful. I am going to guess not many, if any. And if they do they probably don't do it for free. If you don't catch a fish on a salmon trip, do you get to come back for free? If you go on a guided hunt to Alaska for brown bear and don't get to leave the lodge because of weather, do you get to go back for free. The answer is no. So i am confused as to why this was such a shock to Kyle or the clients. Kyle proceeded to tell me he was going to do anything he could to ruin my business, he plans to contact landowners and the marine board, and anyone else who will listen. I thought it was kind of funny because I wonder if Kyle even read the contract that was signed which states the obvious, no gaurantees of any sort. So yes, when he texted me and emailed me his threats, yep I called him and idiot. And I stand by that. I imagine if your a hunter you can maybe see what is truth and what isn't in this post. My organization gives away plenty of hunts to wounded veterans through our non-profit Forward Assist, We have hosted two dream hunts through RMEF for terminally ill children, and have given away hunts for charities. For someone to lie about what really took place and post it is unfortunate. Its sad someone puts in the time and effort in an attempt to discourage others from coming to enjoy what the other 299+ do each year, weather it be with Elk, Deer, Turkey's, Varmints, or prairie dogs. But, I know each year there will always be "that one guy" you can't please no matter what. Kyle congratulations, you are that guy this year!! Thanks for getting it over early in the season. Now back to hunting. Good luck to all of you, even Kyle.
weather was not a factor
