We were very impressed with Vince and all of the operations at New Mexico Hunting Adventures. I communicated with Vince multiple times before the hunt which made planning and logistics easier. I have hunted some in Colorado, some in New Zealand, a little in Ohio and Pennsylvania but have done the majority of my hunting in Alaska. I consider myself quite a seasoned hunter and as such, I know my areas and when to defer to the experts in their areas. The operation is well-organized and the guides and staff all work well towards providing a quality experience. Each night the guides got together to discuss sightings, strategies, and set plans for the next day. Our guide, Dominic, was well-versed in his trade - he loves what he's doing and it shows. We were coming from Alaska and close to sea level, we did some preparation, but acclimation is it's own challenge. He paced just right for us. It was my wife's second hunt and she had a great time and learned so much. We saw a lot of great country and lots of sign. The second day, listening to bugling, we watched 8-10 cows and a couple of spike bulls before evening, then my wife's bull came in - a nice 6x5 Bull, dropped in one shot. Vince came out with Rick (another guide) and Mike and helped Dominic and me get it out of there. When back in camp, Dominic, Rick, one of the apprentice guides, and I got it skinned, quartered and bagged up. The next morning, after boning it out and caping it, we took the meat to get processed then prepared to hunt that evening. Again, listening to several bulls bugling and a little while later, in walks my bull a nice, heavy, wide 5x4. Dropped him. We built a fire and got him skinned, quartered and out of there. Another hunter in camp had returned with a 6x6. On day 4, after boning and caping, we went to Taos for some coolers and dry ice, came back to another awesome meal and evening. When we got there, there were 11 in camp - 2 non-hunters. Day one, one hunter was sick, doctor told him not to hunt so he and his wife left and on Day 3 another hunter and his son left because he wasn't feeling well. Of the 7 left we had 3 down and when we left Wednesday the final 4 hunters were out there excitedly getting after it. We had the opportunity to talk at length with Vince and Dominic - both great guys. There is a lot of solid teamwork going on. I have already recommended it to my friends and posted to my social media folks on Facebook. I look forward to doing it again.
