From the time I reached out and started communicating with Bobbi, everything was handled quickly and professionally. He runs a great outfit and the experience was fantastic. This was my 4th trip to Mexico trying for a P&Y Coues, and my first trip with Coues Outfitters. The previous 3 trips left a lot to be desired, and I will be returning with Coues Outfitters when I make my next trip. I will be the first to admit that a trophy Coues is my nemesis, and I did not harvest one on this trip, but it was not for lack of trying. We pulled out all the tricks and the deer just did not cooperate. The region we hunted had exceptional rainfall this season, and there was water everywhere, making a waterhole hunt difficult. I had numerous deer come to water every day except for 1. The other 2 hunters in camp both harvested respectable deer, and I could have also, but was personally looking for a bigger one than I have previously taken. The only reason this is not a 5 rating across the board is that I did not see what I was looking for, but to be fair, it was no ones fault. No one can control the animals on a fair chase hunt, and certainly no one can control the weather. I feel 100% confident saying that with the weather conditions on a normal year, I would have a different outcome and most likely at least seen what I was looking for. To anyone looking to go into old Mexico in search of a Coues, save yourself some time and talk to Coues Outfitters. They are professionals in every sense, and you will be in good hands.
