I've been a huge fan of Shiloh Ranch for a long time. When Matt & Cheryl sold the camp I waited a year before going back. Jon and Linda Holmes (owners) and super camp manager Les Frodsham, having taken the camp and kicked it up a notch. Customer service is fantastic, the place looks great and the hogs were big. I'm a weak man so I don't wait if a hog goes broadside. Since I was the only person in camp, I was allowed to hunt on Friday morning (usually that's an evening hunt). I sat stand 3, based on Les' suggestion. Good advice. I shot a 150ish boar by 8 am. Taken back to camp and deboned, I had time to walk around the camp doing a little spot-and-stalk until it was time to head out to stand 5 for the evening hunt. I never made it to the stand as I was able to stalk into a boar that had some nice teeth. The second hog has a per pound fee so I was looking for something either under 50 or something really big. All-in-all, the worst part of the hunt was leaving.
Thank you for continuing to hunt at Shiloh Ranch and for the positive comments.
Friday (the day I hunted), was dry but storms were predicted for Saturday.
