I hunted antelope and a couple of friends were along hunting mule deer. The ranches are crawling with both whitetails and mule deer and I saw plenty of antelope as well. We all filled our tags with high quality trophies. The hunting area is a beautiful and remote area in Eastern Montana, many miles from the nearest town. We were offered the option of staying at a hotel in Miles City and driving out to the hunting area each morning (30-35 minute drive), or a real "deer camp" experience staying at a modest but suitable house on one of the ranches in the hunting area. We opted to stay on the ranch and forgo maid service and restaurant food in exchange for solitude and deer camp camaraderie. The other hunters in camp were very interesting and personable and the guides were hard working and fun to spend time with as well as surprisingly good cooks. MRO has a great resource in the town of Miles City to handle meat and taxidermy and we had a couple of tremendous "celebratory" meals with our guides in Miles City when we ran our meat/trophies into town which gave us a nice reprieve from "roughing it" in camp.
