Hunter Comments

This was our second year in a row hunting with Pete at 505 Outfitters in New Mexico for Barbary Sheep. Last year we hunted hard for 3 days but just couldn't turn up a sheep on the property. We did see 3 big rams but by the time we were able to close the distance they had made it onto another ranch. We immediately booked another hunt with Pete for 2020.

Fast forward to 2020. Day 1, We hiked from the truck to a glassing point. We were there 30 seconds and Pete spotted 5 mature rams. After 6-7 miles of hiking/stalking we both were able to take big mature rams. On our way back to the truck we saw a group of 8-10 rams.

If you want a Barbary sheep I highly suggest you give Pete a call. Pete and Josh are excellent guides and have a great property for Barbary in addition to the public land hunts they do. I believe they went 10 for 10 on Barbary rams this year? We are in the process of planning an Oryx hunt for the future if we have some luck in the 2020 NM draw.
