Hunter Comments
I do not recommend this outfitter

If I could give zero stars, I would. I just wish that I had read the reviews of others prior to booking. I have now spent $13,500 with W.H.O. and have not had 1 shot at a good buck. I had a 4-day rifle rut hunt with them in 2017. 3 of my buddies came with me as well. That is $16K. 4 days of hunting x 4 men. No shooter bucks - not even close. Mainly does and squirrels. Also, I was sitting in the downrange field from one of my buddies - only about 300 yds away. I decided to give them another try since hunting isn't a guarantee by any means - maybe I was just not lucky last year. Took my boys on a youth hunt at W.H.O. in October. Saw a few deer, but nothing over 100". $5k down the drain. Of course, I had already signed up for my rut last week. Another $4k down the drain. As others say, here are the main points: 1) marketing - it is not even close to what reality is. In reality, they over hunt areas and pack as many hunters in as they can - way too much pressure on deer; 2) this leads to safety issues - we were told to "just be a good shot" when we brought up having hunters in our downrange shooting field; 3) quality - they often put rifle hunters in stands for bow hunters with limited range of view; also, two of my buddies had corn near their stands that was so old it was fermented and sour! Another got into a box blind and had to leave - a dead possum that had been in there for a while and had drawn thousands of flies around it. He literally couldn't sit in the stand for all of the flies. In short, safety, quality, and marketing are all off for this outfitter. When you bring up a problem, they always state that it is your fault rather than theirs. It is a shame. If you want a real hunting experience with a real hunter and guide who knows how to do this right, look elsewhere. All of the raffles and marketing are just to make as much money as possible, not to give you the hunt of a lifetime. Finally, I want to say that I DO believe the 100 5 out of 5 ratings over the past several years. They do kill SOME big bucks. If I shot one of the big ones mentioned (a 200" B&C), I am sure that I would be ecstatic. The problem is the hundreds of guys and women per year that this doesn't represent, especially over the past 2 years when business has boomed and service has tanked. Take a look at the Better Business Bureau complaints to see what I mean. Same 3 themes over an over. They get a 'C' rating from the BBB even though they claim an 'A+' rating on their website (which I double-checked this morning, 11.14.18, to make sure my facts were straight - see the screenshot below from their website this morning and then go to BBB - all a sham these days for MOST hunters at WHO. Of note, one of the 5/5 Google ratings is Tevis rating his own business.
