My hunt started with a terrible flight. Nothing seemed to be going right for me until i finally made it to Jay's house at 12:30AM! Bo had his guide Jay wait for me at his house and then drove my girlfriend and I into camp at 1:30 in the morning. After a 4 hour nap we awoke to the cook handing me a cup of coffee and am amazing breakfast. After a couple practice shots we head out to the blind where I didn't even have enough time to take off my pack before i have 4 antelope at the water hole in front of me. The worst part about the trip was being overwhelmed with the amount of antelope around you. Being a greenhorn when it comes to sizing antelope I was trying to determine what was Pope and Young (67") or not. After seeing 15 bucks a day and a couple pope and young bucks shot in camp, by the second day i knew what i was looking for. Halfway through the second day I had a group of 3 pope and young plus antelope come to the water hole and I was able to make a good shot on one. So food was excellent, quality of antelope was amazing now this is what makes this outfitter stand out from the rest. On the third day of the hunt I was tagged out and instead of sitting at camp sight seeing Bo let me ride in the truck and scout the elk filled hills that he had a client hunting for them. I would have never thought you could sit on a ridge and see 50-60 bull elk. My girlfriend got some amazing footage of the bulls sparing and thrashing little pines. Speaking of my girlfriend if you're worried about taking a women to an outfitter you do not have to worry about Bo's camp. He had a great time with everyone in camp but was also professional and made both women in camp feel comfortable. I am planning on booking an elk hunt with him in the near future.
