They knew what bears were hitting which baits and asked us what we were looking for. Multiple bears sighted by all hunters. 3 out of 4 of us took bears the first night, the fourth had several opportunities but elected to hunt more.
We cannot say enough good things about this operation. Evan stayed in touch with us throughout the year without us contacting him. He sent pictures frequently, and when fire near his hunting area threatened to be a problem he called to inform us and offered a full refund, move the hunt to the following year or let us still come. He assured us if we came we would have plenty of opportunity, and he was right! They were always fully transparent with all of us!
All hunters were treated equally, no favoritism. He had many more baits than hunters, we hunted fresh baits!!!
The four of us hunted bear in MB two years ago and enjoyed each other's company to want to hunt together again. We are glad we chose Sleeve Lake!
Brian brought his daughter McKena, and they hunted together the first night. McKena had first shot and killed a P&Y. Brian was letting her be successful before he would even hunt, so he asked Evan if they could start hunting Sunday and have one extra day. Evan not only agreed, but said all of us could hunt the extra day. And three of us took bears that first evening.
