I did quite a lot of research prior to booking with Tad. Having gone to Montana and Colorado for Elk and Mule Deer in the past I was hoping for a trophy whitetail and chose Tad Ladd based on the high number of five star reviews here on Bowsite. I made the right choice. From the moment my buddy and I arrived we were impressed by the professionalism and passion of the staff. It was very obvious that they took a lot of pride in their operation and would do their best to give you an opportunity at a trophy animal. The new accommodations, staff, food (thanks Tina!) were all first rate. Stands were high quality, comfortable and placed in productive areas. Guides were knowledgeable and friendly and willing to do whatever was necessary to put you in position to harvest a trophy animal. The hunting was nothing like I had ever experienced and far exceeded my expections. I have to confess, following Tad on Facebook and seeing some of the animals that were taken during the September velvet season, the October season and the youth hunt I began to wonder if there were going to be any deer left by the time I got there in November. I need not have worried. I couldn't begin to count the number of deer I saw during my hunt, including many trophy bucks. Knowing the quality of animals roaming around, I passed on many bucks that I wouldn't have hesitated shooting in my home state of Massachusetts. On the last day I was finally successful in shooting my largest bow buck, a ten pointer taken with about twenty minutes of time left in my hunt, thanks to my guide Larry. My buddy was also successful, taking an eight pointer. If you're looking for an opportunity at a monster whitetail you can't go wrong by hunting with Tad. Not only will you have a great time, you will leave there feeling like you made some good friends. I already re-booked spots for my son and I for next year and my buddy is returning as well. I highly recommend you consider Tadd if you're planning on pursuing a trophy whitetail, If you play your cards right and listen to your guides, you may well shoot the biggest deer of your life.
