I was Riverside Lodge for a spring bear hunt during the rut in 2017. The outfit was very well organized and professionally run. There was ample food to eat at all the meals. Because you hunted long hours, you were packed a small lunch to take with you everyday. Dinner was served upon return. The cabins were clean and comfortable and the bathroom linens were changed daily. I was hoping for a color phase bear to go with my other bears. The bow tree stands were approx 15-20 yards from the baits. I did not see any bears the first two sits at the same stand. I was moved to another stand and seen four bears on the evening hunt. Two large bears, one being the very large bear in the picture which is my biggest one to date. It wasn't a color phase but was way too big to pass up. Fishing for walleye was great right off the dock at the lodge. It was even better in the boats that were provided for hunters to use when not bear hunting. Most of the walleye were too large to keep. They had to be under 18". I would recommend Riverside Lodge for anyone looking for a professionally run rifle, bow or muzzle loader bear hunt.
None to date. If you are the outfitter please email us.
The weather was cool and breezy the first couple of days and then it warmed up. There were no black flies but alot of skeeters...it's Canada. A Thermocell is handy.
