Hunter Comments
I do not recommend this outfitter

Poor service by exclusive guide. Abused horses and didn't seem to want to be on the hunt. Shared comments with his brother, Travis Adams the business owner, who was also abusive and rude. Spent lees than 18 hours on the ground in a hunt situation out of 5 days in the hunting camp.

Was the outfitter notified of problems? - YES

Outfitter's Response
Disagree

Mr. Zuhse arrived at our camp with family issues that directly affected the hunt that week requiring 1/3 of his hunting party to drop out weeks before the hunt. Mr. Zuhse informed us he was not happy when he arrived and did not really want to be there. As the outfitter we were doomed from the start. We tried to make the best of the situation, even to the extent of allowing him to arrive a day early ( 2 days before the opening day of muzzleloader season)to our base camp to accommodate his personal needs. The guide Ike has been with Bucks & Bulls for 7 years, is a horseman, rancher, cowboy by trade and has repeat clients that request him year after year. He makes his living on horses and I assume his treatment of the stock was in the benefit of the client. I have not witnessed abuse from him, as a fun loving, layed back, camp guitar playing cowboy. A personality conflict and a hunter that does not want to be there is a recipe for negativity. This is rugged country that requires horses and hunters that are in shape. Its definitely my fault for taking the word of Mr. Zuhse as 73 year old hunter about his hunting capabilities, his physical abilities and his experience around horses. We had a nice conversation before the hunt and took Mr. Zuhse to his word. The Mr. Zuhse on the phone was much different than the clearly unhappy person that arrived at camp but we took this task on as a welcomed challenge and thought we come perk him up. We did our best to put him in the best situations as possible even with the unavoidable limits and disgust of even being there. Mr. Zuhse was in our back country wilderness camp. In hind-site Mr. Zuhse would have been much more comfortable in the base camp that caters to his style. We just could not get it right. Going forward in 2017, He said "I do NOT want money back, nor another hunt". I really did not know how to turn his situation into a positive one. What are we to do? We are at a loss. Then it became obvious that Bucks & Bulls was going to be caught up in a unfortunate family turn of events for Mr. Zuhse. I'm sorry to say we became the target to vent his frustrations on as of this January/Febuary in which made me clearly and justifiably unhappy. On a positive note we were successful in finishing off the September archery season with some nice bulls harvested and a majority of repeat clients coming back and looking forward to this 2017 season. We are happy to provide a list of references to anyone looking to our service in the future. I also encourage you to visit our website: www.bucksandbulls.com
