My family and I have bowhunted bears in New Brunswick for 12 years, but this was our first hunt with Stewart's Old Pine Lodge. After the week we had with Carl and his crew, I'm confident we will be going back again. Lodging was a very roomy and comfortable house right on the Miramichi River. 4 bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, bathroom with shower and living room plus an outdoor covered porch area. Food was fantastic, big breakfasts everyday along with a big meal mid-day before your afternoon hunt, then another meal when you return at the end of the day. Carl's guides (Tyler & Connor) did a great job making sure we were safely in our stands and would set the bait barrels such that it would make the bear give you the good broadside or slightly quartering away shot. Treestands were sturdy ladder stands that were brushed in for better concealment from behind and to the sides. We had 5 hunters in camp and all 5 of us could have shot bears. My nephew and I both filled our tags with 2 others missing shots and my dad passing on multiple bears waiting on a monster we knew was in the area. We only hunted 4 days due to heavy rain and wind on day one, but still had a lot of action. Carl doesn't have a website, but feel free to PM me for his phone # if you wish to contact him. They like to take no more than 6 hunters per week for 4 weeks during the month of June. I look forward to getting back up there again.
Thank you for the positive feedback! It was a real pleasure serving the Jensen Family and their friend a great group of gentlemen it was a lot of fun and look forward to your return.Carl
