I recommend this outfitter

The guides were very good but had a rifle hunting mentality- I was certain they were going to shoot my goat with a rifle after I shot it with my bow( I under stand their concern).I talked to the guides about avoiding this as much as possible, and we did avoid some terrain that would give a goat the chance to jump when hit.As it turned out I put a good shot on my goat, and the guide didnt have a shell in the chamber of his rifle, and by the time he jacked a round in, the goat was covered with blood so he didnt shoot(thank god!).

Outfitter's Response

Thanks Dave, I appreciate the review. I think there may be a misperception that your guide, Bobby, was going to shoot your goat. It's true that he pulled up the gun and was ready to shoot if he needed to. This is a natural reaction for just about every Alaskan guide as we're required by law to make every effort to retrieve a wounded animal. In your case, it was not necessary due to the excellent shot you made. I assure you that if Bobby needed to shoot, he would have. So I'm guessing this was just a misunderstanding. The area you hunted is rugged and hard-core and you were a very good bowhunter to have in camp. Again, thanks for hunting with us, making a great shot, and writing this review.
